Wrestling. Decide Where The Fight Happens.
The takedown is the most valuable skill in combat sports. Learn to get it — and to stop it.
Wrestling decides where a fight takes place. Whoever controls the takedown controls the terms — standing or on the ground, offense or escape. It is the single biggest force multiplier in MMA, and it stands on its own as one of the hardest, most honest sports there is.
- Stance and motion: level changes, penetration steps, and hand fighting
- Leg attacks: singles, doubles, high crotch — entries, finishes, and re-attacks
- Upper body and throws: underhooks, front headlock, Greco-Roman ties
- Takedown defense: sprawls, whizzers, limp-arm, and getting back to your feet
- Top control and the scramble: riding, breakdowns, and turning chaos into position
Class Flow
Each session: movement warm-up → technique of the day → positional drilling from a live start → situational rounds. Volume is high and the reps are honest, so the technique holds up when someone is fighting back.
Beginners & Hobbyists
No wrestling background needed. You'll start with stance, motion, and how to change levels without getting countered, then build into your first takedowns. Falling safely is taught before anything gets thrown.
For Fighters
Wrestling is the ingredient that makes the rest of your game work. Chain attacks, cage-adjacent entries, and defending the shot so you can keep the fight where you want it.
Safety Standards
Hard training, controlled landings. Headgear and knee pads recommended. Throws are drilled with a partner who knows how to be thrown, and live rounds are scaled to the two people in them.
What to Bring
Wrestling shoes or clean mat shoes, shorts without zippers, rash guard or fitted tee, water, towel. Headgear and knee pads optional but recommended. Courtesy shower available — bring your own soap.
You can't fake a takedown.
Wrestling is the most honest room in the gym. Either you got the shot or you didn't, and the mat tells you immediately. That feedback loop is why wrestlers adapt faster than anyone — and why a wrestling base makes every other discipline you train sharper.

Your Wrestling Coach
Twenty years of takedowns, on the biggest stages in the sport.
Pennsylvania trained, with 20 years on the mat. Coach Panther went 115–36 as a high school state qualifier, scored 300+ takedowns across his junior and senior years, placed 8th at Super 32, and qualified for Fargo three times — in folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman. He's a takedown specialist: leg attacks or throws, he's hit them on the biggest stages in wrestling. Panther teaches wrestling as an art that feeds every other martial art — the main ingredient in your game, or the edge that makes the rest of it work.
